Americans All Proposal Highlights
Who we are: A 36-year-old nonprofit membership organization managed by a for-profit benefit corporation. We are pre-revenue.
What we need: A $250,000 convertible loan/equity investment commitment (can be incremental after $75,000) to support a well-developed pilot project for one year in three geographic areas: HOWARD and Montgomery Counties in Maryland and the District of Columbia.
Repayment plan: The investment carries a $250,000 balloon and a third payment with two options. The lender can receive either an additional $250,000 balloon or annual revenue generated by 1 percent of the program’s gross revenue. Once specific financial benchmarks are reached, the investor will have the right of first refusal to acquire the program as well as control the foundation’s board at a pre-set price.
Issues we address: In today’s highly polarized and uncertain economy,
● Community members, including high school students, want to find discounts when they
shop and increase their sense of belonging with their peers,
● Businesses and professional service providers need to increase traffic and find an
affordable and effective way to do it,
● Schools need an ongoing annual stream of unrestricted revenue that can be obtained
with as little staff time as possible, and
● Mental health professionals can benefit by using our program to help students develop
a sense of well-being and belonging.
What we provide: Americans All provides a unique, multipurpose storytelling tool that helps leaders improve the mental, social and economic health of their cities and counties. Our business model helps city or county executives build a more cohesive community and addresses the issues listed above.
Membership: Students and community members are initially free (to create an immediate user database) and businesses pay a fee.
Outreach: Various platforms of social media and support from our four projected nonprofit marketing partners and our investor/partner.
Program structure: We are virtual, have no inventory, and only require minimal staff. The original website has been modified to serve these new population groups, and a few edits are currently still being finished.
Scalability: It will be easy after we create videos based on lessons learned in the pilot sites, and it will only involve minor website revisions.
Additional target markets: See business plan, page 17.
Additional benefits for students: See business plan, page 28.
Program history: Completed nine pilot programs and sold supplemental social studies materials to more than 2,000 schools and libraries nationwide. See business plan, page 3.
