Partnership proposal for Howard County, MD
Americans All is a 33-year-old nonprofit community outreach program that specifically benefits small businesses and schools. Prior to this, we provided supplemental social studies resources to more than 2,000 schools and libraries nationwide. A shift in emphasis in the education arena, as well as the increased marketing power of big-box stores and the Web, are posing challenges to schools and small businesses, respectively. Americans All has been rebranded as a grassroots program to help them meet these challenges. We are seeking organizations that appreciate the important role diversity plays in our nation’s growth to become equity developmental partners as we create pilot projects to refine our national implementation strategy. There is no cost for partners to participate in the pilot and our first national partner is AOH.
Our program uses a unique storytelling tool—the Heritage Honor Roll—to facilitate legacy preservation and enable people to enhance their communication skills. Storytelling brings communities together by sharing people’s common histories rather than their differences.
Here are some program highlights.
- Schools, students and their families, faculty and alumni participate in Americans All for free; others can join for a nominal cost. Americans All members can create legacy stories in multiple languages that are published on our Heritage Honor Roll and gain access to all current and future program benefits. After a free, one-year trial, members can subscribe to our Social Legacy Network to receive even more benefits.
- Families can use our storytelling tool to pass on knowledge and experiences to current and future generations and help children better understand their ethnic and cultural identities.
- Small businesses can join our program for a small fee to gain ongoing exposure and share discounts on goods and services with our members. Businesses can be searched on our Legacy Partners and Discounts marketing pages in addition to having their stories published on the Heritage Honor Roll. These marketing pages, which can also be created in multiple languages, can be updated at any time, at no cost.
- Schools immediately receive revenue from small business membership fees and from Americans All members who upgrade to a Social Legacy Network subscription. After the pilot projects are completed, we will move forward with national implementation on a geographic zone basis, beginning in Maryland. In addition to receiving 1 percent of the revenue generated in Maryland, each development partner will receive 1 percent of the membership revenue generated in future geographic zones, estimated to be $120,000 per year per zone. Our goal is to create at least 10 new zones once the Maryland zone is operational.
- Our foundation will set up a chapter for each zone, and zone partners will comprise the chapter’s board of directors. The annual zone budget of approximately $3 million will be used to support programs that zone partners deem important.
I look forward to discussing how we can work together to benefit the members of your community.
Best regards,
Allan
