Organization Legacy Partners

Information on Americans All for Organization Legacy Partners

What We Deliver:  Inexpensive, socially relevant membership benefits and a marketing tool

  • Use legacy stories to highlight the contributions and common experiences of all peoples
  • Uphold our nation’s values of diversity, tolerance and acceptance by investing more than half of our membership revenue to provide inclusive social studies resources that help students participate in our democracy, economy and workforce
  • Support David McCullough’s belief that “history is the story of people,” because it reinforces the connection between legacy preservation and social studies instruction

Who We Are:  A 31-year-old nonprofit managed by a 3-year-old for-profit benefit corporation with three membership-based entities: Americans All, Social Legacy Network and Legacy Partner Alliance

The Problems:

  • If an individual fails to record and share his or her life story, it will be lost forever
    • Legacy stories celebrate experiences, accomplishments and lessons learned
    • They acknowledge that heritage and culture are rich aspects of personal and group identity
    • They pass on wisdom to guide future generations
    • They are likely to be a costly and short-lived obituary if created after the honoree’s passing
  • The emphasis on STEM topics has reduced social studies classroom instruction time
    • Whether instruction is secular or faith-based, students need nonpartisan instructional resources that are accurate and free from biases to develop critical thinking skills
    • Vetted resources that meet state teaching requirements exist, but they cannot be easily accessed by teachers and students
